Rev. Dr. Sheila Crawford Sims was born to Bishop Melvin and Pastor Beatrice Crawford. She is the Mother of six children .The Lord has found favor with Rev. Sims in many different ways. He began by allowing her to finish college and receive her Bachelors in Business Education, Master’s in Counseling, and PH.D. in Clinical Psychology. She has taught at various schools, both private and public. God has blessed Rev. Sims with an array of musical talents. At age 11 she started directing the Church of God’s Choir and the following years the Lord elevated her to be the Minister of Music. Her musical talents led her, her mother and two sisters Minister Rosalind and Bishop Bansa to form the successful group known as the Crawford Singers. The Crawford Singers opened for performers such as the Jackson 5, James Brown Marvin Gaye, Mistress of Ceremony for such guests as the Stylistics and the Englewood Spirit Festival in Ogden Park. During the Crawford Singers existence they performed as the lead gospel group in the hid musical “Opportunity Please Knock”, starring Oscar Brown Jr. and many small theater parts as Kennedy King. Through the guidance of her parents, at a young age, Rev. Sims began her ministry. The Lord then blessed her in 1985 to be elevated to Assistant Pastor of the Church of the Living God P.G.O.T. The impact she has made on the church didn’t end there, in 1989 she became the Executive Director of Church of God Community Daycare & Head Start. Both locally and abroad she has been a pleasure to the God that created her .She has raised many children and has taken in many families. Through all of her endeavors, Rev. Sims has never forgotten where she has come from. She continually gives honor to God, her motto is, “God will not put more on me than I can bear.” A cancer survivor and independent women, Rev. Sims is a role model for both young and old women.
